Palliative care comprises providing supportive medical and psychological care to terminally or critically ill patients in the comfort of their home.
This service is most widely used for cancer patients as cancer has gained a very strong foothold and is increasingly presenting itself at an alarming rate. Statistically, 1 in every 10 Indians will, at some point in their lives, have to combat the evil called ‘cancer’. Although it is a well-known and well-spread disease, there is no definitive cure for it. Symptomatic treatment for suppression and prevention of relapse is the only way to deal with it. Treatments include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, pain management, and symptomatic treatment of any/all symptoms which might present itself during the course.
Medical management of cancer leaves the patient in a very weak and frail condition, making it difficult for them or their family members to effectively care for them and this is where home healthcare is important.
We are a single-point provider for palliative care services which include but are not limited to nursing care, attendant care, assistance with activities of daily life, medicine management, physical therapy, and emotional support.
Our trained and experienced palliative caregivers know the ins and outs of the medical condition and illness. They not only know what is needed medically but also stand to support the patient and their family in these difficult times as if they are their own.
